Director of Strategic Business Operations
Mike joined Helion in 2020 and is responsible for Helion’s strategic planning, capability development portfolio, and business unit operations.
His team plans and maintains Helion’s medical and administrative cost savings initiatives and is also responsible for the ideation, planning, and development of new capabilities in alignment with Helion’s multi-year strategy for growth, scaling, and value creation.
This team also leads Helion’s business unit operations, which includes management of Helion’s development portfolio via the Annual Operating Plan, business unit-level reporting and dashboarding, financial operations, and alignment of Helion’s innovation pipeline with customer value targets for medical and administrative costs.
Mike brings over 10 years of health care experience in various strategic and operational roles, including 8+ years of health plan experience.
Mike served as a strategy consultant with Highmark on the initial ACA implementation before shifting to the P&L team tasked with driving financial and operational performance of Individual and Small Group markets. He then moved to Health Plan Operations, where he managed a team responsible for Federal Markets enrollment, billing, and payment reconciliation.
Mike received his Master of Healthcare Administration degree from Duquesne University and his undergraduate degree from Washington & Jefferson college.
