Director of Clinical Operations
As Director of Clinical Operations, Laura works closely and collaboratively with the Helion team, strategic partners, and enterprise teams to implement clinical programs and strategies. She leads a team of expert clinicians who serve as the subject matter experts for all things clinical. She is currently integrating the post-acute strategy for all clinical programs, which will ensure an integrated experience for members and a more successful transition of care back to the home and community space.
Laura also serves as co-chair for the Helion Connect team, which focuses on employee engagement, onboarding, and culture. This team leads the orientation process for new hires and initiatives that support the “Remarkable” first-year program. They also lead professional development opportunities, including a mentorship program, in addition to quarterly employee engagement and volunteer activities.
Laura also oversees the Helion Quality Committee. This Committee collaborates closely with the Highmark Quality team and Strategic partners to address post-acute quality concerns.
Prior to joining Helion in June of 2017, Laura worked as a registered nurse at Allegheny Health Network. Her experience includes acute care, emergency services, and education. She has over 32 years of healthcare experience, along with a passion to drive care transitions to all levels of care.
Outside of Helion, Laura holds a school nurse certification and is currently a cyber school nurse. She is a master’s prepared nurse, a Certified Emergency Nurse, a Board-Certified Infection Prevention Nurse and holds multiple instructor certifications for pre-hospital care.
