Vice President, Helion
As one of the founding members of Helion, Nick has led the development of the value-based partnership structure for Highmark’s Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Home Health Agency (HHA), Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH), and Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) networks. This structure is aimed at shifting contracts from traditional, any willing provider contracts, to true value-based contracts. Additionally, Nick and team developed a proprietary technology platform that connects providers with the payor while fostering innovation throughout the post-acute continuum. The technology also brings exception-based automation to the utilization management workflows and links members with clinical interventions to drive better quality outcomes.
Prior to the founding of Helion, Nick served as Director of Post-Acute Care at the Allegheny Health Network (AHN), Highmark Health’s provider network. In his role, Nick helped to lead the executive team charged with strategic planning and development of AHN’s Healthcare@Home, a comprehensive post-acute care service line within the health system’s continuum of care including a portfolio of integrated companies – Home Health, Hospice, Home Infusion, and Home Medical Equipment.
Prior to his tenure with Highmark Health and AHN, Nick worked in the Skilled Nursing and Home Health industries and played key roles on regional and national strategy teams for operations, growth, and innovation.
